In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, and black pepper. Gradually pour in the dark beer while stirring until the batter is smooth and thick.

Coat the Onion Rings
Dip each onion ring into the batter, ensuring they are fully coated. Allow excess batter to drip off.

Carefully place the battered onion rings in the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for about 2-3 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy.
