Method

Preparing the Shrimp

    Boil the Shrimp

    In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add 1 tsp of salt to the boiling water.

    Add Shrimp

    Once the water is boiling, add the 6 large shrimp. Cook for 2-3 minutes or until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.

    Ice Bath

    Remove the shrimp from the pot and immediately place them in a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. Let them chill for 5 minutes.

    Drain and Serve

    Drain the shrimp and pat them dry with a paper towel. Set aside.

Making the Cocktail Sauce

    Mix Ingredients

    In a small bowl, combine 1 cup of ketchup, 2 tbsp of horseradish, 1 tbsp of lemon juice, 1 tsp of Worcestershire sauce, and 2 tsp of hot sauce.

    Season

    Add salt to taste and mix until all ingredients are well blended.

Serving

    Plate the Shrimp

    Arrange the chilled shrimp on a serving platter.

    Serve with Sauce

    Serve the shrimp with the cocktail sauce on the side for dipping. Garnish with lemon wedges, if desired.
