Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar until well combined.

  3. 3

    Cream Butter

In another bowl, cream the softened unsalted butter until smooth and fluffy.

  4. 4

    Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients

Gradually add the dry mixture to the creamed butter, mixing until just combined. Add water and vanilla extract, mixing until a smooth dough forms.

Shaping and Baking

  1. 5

    Roll Out Dough

On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/8 inch thickness.

  2. 6

    Cut Out Wafers

Using a cookie cutter or knife, cut the dough into desired shapes, placing them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

  3. 7

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. Keep an eye on them to prevent burning.

  4. 8

    Cool

Remove from the oven and let the wafers cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
