Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
- 2
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- 3
Cream Butter and Sugars
In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
- 4
Add Eggs and Vanilla
Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- 5
Combine Mixtures
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
- 6
Fold in Chocolate Chips
Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips with a spatula.

Prepare Chocolate Sauce
In a small saucepan, combine cocoa powder, granulated sugar, and water. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens, about 5-7 minutes.

Add Vanilla
Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Let the sauce cool slightly before serving.
Whipped Cream Directions

Whip the Cream
In a mixing bowl, combine heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Using an electric mixer, whip on medium-high speed until soft peaks form, about 3-5 minutes.
