Method

Shrimp Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Breading Station

In three separate shallow bowls, place the cornmeal, flour, and a mixture of beaten eggs and milk.

  2. 2

    Bread the Shrimp

Season the shrimp with salt and black pepper. Dredge each shrimp first in flour, then dip into the egg mixture, and finally coat with cornmeal, pressing lightly to adhere.

  3. 3

    Fry the Shrimp

In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the breaded shrimp in batches, frying until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Steak Fries Preparation

  1. 4

    Cut the Potatoes

Wash and cut the russet potatoes into thick wedges to resemble steak fries.

  2. 5

    Season and Bake the Fries

Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Toss the potato wedges with olive oil, salt, and paprika in a large bowl. Spread out on a baking sheet in a single layer and bake for 30-35 minutes, flipping halfway through until golden and crispy.

Kohl-slaw Preparation

  1. 6

    Mix the Kohl-slaw Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the shredded cabbage and carrot. In a separate bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 7

    Combine and Chill

Pour the dressing over the cabbage mixture and toss to combine. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld.
