Method

Prep Work

  1. 1

    Prepare the Vegetables

Peel and dice the potatoes into small cubes. Finely chop the onion and mince the garlic.

Cooking the Soup

  1. 2

    Sauté the Aromatics

In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until the onion becomes translucent, about 5 minutes.

  2. 3

    Cook the Potatoes

Add the diced potatoes to the pot and stir well. Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and let it simmer for about 15-20 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender.

  3. 4

    Incorporate Pickles

Once the potatoes are cooked, add the crushed dill pickles and pickle juice to the pot. Stir well to combine.

  4. 5

    Add Cream and Seasoning

Pour in the heavy cream and stir to mix. Add salt, black pepper, and dill weed. Let the soup simmer for an additional 5-10 minutes to meld the flavors.

Serving the Soup

  1. 6

    Serve

Ladle the soup into bowls and garnish with additional chopped dill or pickles if desired. Serve warm.
