Prepare the Caramel Sauce

Make the Caramel
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, add the granulated sugar. Stir constantly with a wooden spoon until the sugar melts and turns a light amber color, about 5-7 minutes.

Add Butter
Once the sugar is melted, carefully add the unsalted butter. Stir until melted and combined, about 2 minutes.

Finish the Caramel
Slowly pour in the heavy cream while stirring continuously. Allow the mixture to boil for 1 minute, then remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Let cool slightly.
Prepare the Apples

Slice the Apples
Core and slice the Granny Smith apples into thin wedges. Arrange on a serving plate.
Assemble the Caramel Apple

Scoop the Ice Cream
In serving bowls, scoop 1 cup of vanilla ice cream for each serving.

Drizzle with Caramel
Warm the caramel sauce if necessary, then drizzle generously over the ice cream.

Top the ice cream and caramel with the sliced apples.

Sprinkle sea salt over the top to enhance the flavors and serve immediately.
