Cast Iron Skillet Sautéed Cremini and Wild Mushrooms, Marsala, Garlic, Herbs, French Bread

Clean the cremini and wild mushrooms by brushing off any dirt. Slice them evenly. Mince the garlic.

Prepare the mushrooms

In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the slices of French bread and toast until golden brown on both sides. Remove and set aside.

Toast the bread

In the same skillet, add olive oil and heat over medium-high. Add the sliced mushrooms and sauté for about 5-7 minutes until they are browned and tender.

Sauté the mushrooms

Add the minced garlic, thyme, salt, and pepper to the mushrooms. Cook for another minute until fragrant.

Add garlic and seasoning

Pour in the Marsala wine, scraping up any browned bits from the skillet. Allow it to simmer for about 5 minutes until slightly reduced.

Deglaze with Marsala

Serve the sautéed mushrooms over the toasted French bread slices. Enjoy while warm.
