Preparation Steps
- 1
Muddle Mint and Sugar
In a sturdy glass, place the fresh mint leaves and sugar. Use a muddler or the back of a spoon to gently crush the mint and sugar together to release the mint's essential oils. Aim for a fragrant aroma.
- 2
Add Lime Juice
Cut the lime in half and squeeze the juice into the glass, making sure to catch any seeds. Continue to muddle the mint and lime juice together for a few seconds to combine the flavors.
- 3
Pour in Rum and Pineapple Juice
Add the white rum and pineapple juice to the muddled mixture. Stir gently to combine the ingredients evenly.
- 4
Add Soda Water
Top the mixture with soda water, pouring slowly to maintain some fizz. Stir gently again to mix the soda without losing the bubbles.
- 5
Garnish and Serve
Add ice to the glass if desired, then garnish with a fresh pineapple wedge and a sprig of mint. Serve immediately with a straw.
