Method

Mixing the Batter

  1. 1

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt until well combined.

  2. 2

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, mix the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.

  3. 3

    Mix Together

Pour the wet ingredients into the bowl with the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are fine.

Cooking the Pancakes

  1. 4

    Heat the Pan

Place a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and allow it to heat up. If desired, lightly grease the surface with a bit of butter or oil.

  2. 5

    Pour the Batter

Using a ladle or measuring cup, pour about 1/4 cup of batter onto the hot skillet for each pancake.

  3. 6

    Cook the Pancakes

Cook the pancakes for about 2-3 minutes until bubbles form on the surface and the edges look set. Flip them and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until golden brown.

  4. 7

    Repeat

Continue pouring batter and cooking pancakes until all batter is used, adjusting the heat as necessary.

Serving

  1. 8

    Serve with Toppings

Stack the pancakes on a plate and drizzle with maple syrup. Top with fresh berries of your choice. Enjoy!
