Prepare Tuna Salad

Mix Tuna Salad Ingredients
In a medium bowl, combine the drained canned tuna, mayonnaise, finely chopped celery, finely chopped red onion, Dijon mustard, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly coated and combined.
Grill the Tuna Melt

Assemble the Sandwich
Take one slice of sourdough bread and spread a generous amount of the tuna salad mixture on top. Place a slice of cheddar cheese over the tuna salad. Top with the second slice of sourdough bread.

Butter the Bread
Spread butter evenly on the outside of both slices of sourdough bread.

Grill the Sandwich
Heat a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, place the sandwich in the skillet and grill for about 3-4 minutes on one side until golden brown. Carefully flip the sandwich and grill the other side for another 3-4 minutes until the cheese is melted and both sides are crispy and golden.

Serve
Once grilled to perfection, remove the sandwich from the skillet, let it cool for a minute, then slice in half and serve warm.
