Sandwich Assembly
Method
Marinating the Chicken
- 1
- 2
Marinate the Chicken
Place the chicken breasts in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring it's well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours.
Grilling the Chicken
- 3
Preheat the Grill
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (approximately 375°F to 400°F).
- 4
Grill the Chicken
Remove the chicken from the marinade and discard the marinade. Grill the chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F and the chicken is cooked through.
- 5
Rest the Chicken
Once cooked, remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
Assembling the Sandwich
- 6
Prepare the Vegetables
While the chicken is resting, slice the avocado and tomato.
- 7
Toast the Bread (optional)
If desired, lightly toast the sandwich bread on the grill or in a toaster.
- 8
Spread Mayonnaise
Spread a tablespoon of mayonnaise on one side of each slice of bread.
- 9
Build the Sandwich
On two slices of bread, layer the grilled chicken, avocado slices, lettuce leaves, and tomato slices. If using, add a slice of cheddar cheese on top.
- 10
Top and Serve
Place the remaining slices of bread on top to complete the sandwich. Cut in half if desired and serve immediately.
