Method

Brewing Coffee

  1. 1

    Prepare the Coffee Maker

Begin by ensuring your coffee maker is clean and ready for use. If using a French press, make sure it is rinsed with hot water to preheat.

  2. 2

    Measure Coffee and Water

In a clean measuring cup, measure out 1 cup of coarsely ground coffee. In a separate measuring cup, measure 4 cups of water.

  3. 3

Add Coffee to the Brew Basket

Place the coarsely ground coffee into the brew basket of your coffee maker or into the French press.

  4. 4

    Heat the Water

If using a coffee maker, fill the water reservoir with the measured water. If using a French press, heat the water until it reaches a boil, then let it cool for about 30 seconds.

  5. 5

    Brew the Coffee

Start the coffee maker and allow the coffee to brew. If using a French press, pour the hot water over the coffee grounds, stir gently, and place the lid on. Let it steep for about 4 minutes.

  6. 6

    Plunge and Serve

If using a French press, slowly press the plunger down to separate the grounds from the brewed coffee. Pour the coffee into a mug.

Adding Optional Ingredients

  1. 7

    Add Milk

If desired, pour in 1 cup of milk to your brewed coffee for a creamier texture.

  2. 8

    Sweeten to Taste

Add sugar to your liking, starting with 2 teaspoons, and adjust based on your preference.

  3. 9

    Enhance Flavor with Vanilla

For added flavor, stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Mix well.
