Tuna Burger
Thai Cucumber Salad
Sriracha Mayo
Method
Tuna Burger
- 1
Prepare the Tuna
Pat the sushi-grade tuna steak dry with paper towels. Cut it into two equal portions.
- 2
Marinate in Soy Sauce
In a small bowl, mix soy sauce and olive oil. Brush this marinade over the tuna portions and let them sit for 10-15 minutes.
- 3
Crust the Tuna
Spread sesame seeds on a plate. Press each tuna portion into the sesame seeds to coat both sides.
- 4
Sear the Tuna
Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add a little olive oil, then sear the tuna for about 1-2 minutes on each side, until the sesame seeds are golden and the tuna is rare in the center. Remove from heat.
- 5
Toast the Buns
Toast the brioche buns in the same skillet until golden brown. Set aside.
Thai Cucumber Salad
- 6
Prepare the Vegetables
Thinly slice the cucumber, julienne the carrot, and chop the red bell pepper into thin strips.
- 7
Make the Salad Dressing
In a bowl, whisk together rice vinegar, sugar, and salt until the sugar dissolves.
- 8
Combine Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the sliced cucumber, carrot, bell pepper, and chopped cilantro. Pour the dressing over the salad and toss well.
Sriracha Mayo
- 9
Mix the Mayo
In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise and Sriracha sauce. Mix until smooth and well combined.
