Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water (not hot) and sugar. Sprinkle yeast over the water and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Once the yeast is activated, add the yeast mixture and olive oil to the flour mixture.

  3. 3

    Knead Dough

Mix until a dough forms, then knead on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  4. 4

    Let Dough Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.

Topping Assembly

  1. 5

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) while the dough is rising.

  2. 6

    Prepare Crust

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness. Transfer it to a baking sheet or pizza stone.

  3. 7

    Add Garlic and Olive Oil

Spread minced garlic evenly over the crust and brush with olive oil.

  4. 8

    Add Sauce and Cheese

Spread tomato sauce evenly on the crust. Tear fresh mozzarella into small pieces and distribute it evenly over the sauce. Sprinkle parmesan cheese on top.

  5. 9

    Bake Pizza

Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.

  6. 10

    Add Fresh Basil

Once the pizza is out of the oven, add fresh basil leaves on top for garnish.

Serving

  1. 11

    Slice and Serve

Let the pizza cool for a few minutes, slice it up, and serve hot. Enjoy your fresh Margarita pizza!
