Method
Crust Preparation
- 1
Prepare the crust
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a medium bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, melted unsalted butter, and granulated sugar. Mix well until the crumbs are evenly coated with butter.
- 2
Form the crust
Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan to form an even layer. Use the back of a measuring cup or your fingers to pack it tightly.
- 3
Bake the crust
Bake the crust in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes until lightly golden. Remove from oven and set aside to cool.
Filling Preparation
- 4
Prepare the filling
In a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese with an electric mixer on medium speed until smooth and creamy, about 2-3 minutes.
- 5
Add sugar and other ingredients
Gradually add the granulated sugar and continue to beat until well combined. Then add the sour cream, vanilla extract, and eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- 6
Incorporate flour
Finally, add the all-purpose flour and mix on low speed just until combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- 7
Pour filling into crust
Pour the cheesecake filling over the cooled graham cracker crust and smooth the top with a spatula.
- 8
Bake the cheesecake
Bake in the preheated oven at 325°F (163°C) for 60-70 minutes. The edges should be set, and the center may still be slightly jiggly.
- 9
Cool the cheesecake
Turn off the oven and let the cheesecake cool in the oven with the door ajar for 1 hour. This helps prevent cracking.
- 10
Refrigerate
After cooling, refrigerate the cheesecake for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, before serving.
