Salad Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Romaine Lettuce
Wash the romaine lettuce thoroughly under cold water. Dry it using a salad spinner or by patting it with a clean kitchen towel. Chop the lettuce into bite-sized pieces and place it in a large salad bowl.
- 2
Add Parmesan and Croutons
Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese and croutons over the chopped romaine lettuce in the salad bowl.
Dressing Preparation
- 3
Blend the Dressing Ingredients
In a medium mixing bowl, combine the minced garlic, minced anchovies, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Whisk these ingredients together until well combined.
- 4
Emulsify the Dressing
While continuously whisking, slowly drizzle in the olive oil to emulsify the mixture until it becomes creamy and well blended.
Assembly
- 5
Combine Salad and Dressing
Pour the prepared Caesar dressing over the romaine lettuce, Parmesan, and croutons in the salad bowl. Toss gently to combine, ensuring all ingredients are evenly coated with the dressing.
- 6
Add Optional Proteins
If desired, top the salad with sliced grilled chicken breast or cooked shrimp for added protein. Toss lightly to incorporate.
- 7
Serve
Serve immediately while the salad is fresh and crisp. Enjoy your homemade Caesar salad!
