Method
Cooking the Pork

Prepare the Pork
Season the pork shoulder with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.

Cook the Pork
Place the seasoned pork shoulder in a slow cooker. Pour half of the BBQ sauce over the pork. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the pork is tender and shreds easily.

Shred the Pork
Once cooked, remove the pork from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks. Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker and mix with the remaining BBQ sauce. Keep warm until serving.
Making the Coleslaw

Combine Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded cabbage and carrots.

Prepare the Dressing
In a separate bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper until smooth.

Mix the Coleslaw
Pour the dressing over the cabbage and carrots. Toss until everything is well coated. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.
Assembling the Sandwich

Prepare the Buns
Slice the burger buns in half and lightly toast them if desired.

Place a generous amount of BBQ shredded pork on the bottom half of each bun. Top with a scoop of marinated coleslaw. Add pickles if desired. Place the top half of the bun over the coleslaw.
