Rolls and Toppings
Method
Preparation and Serving
Prepare the Dough
In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast and sugar in warm water. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
Mix the Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
Knead the Dough
Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
First Rise
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Shape the Rolls
Punch down the risen dough and divide it into 8 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a roll and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Second Rise
Cover the rolls with a cloth and let them rise for an additional 30 minutes.
Bake the Rolls
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the rolls for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
Prepare the Whipped Butter
While the rolls are baking, soften the unsalted butter at room temperature and whip until creamy.
