Salad Base

Method

Salad Preparation

1

Prepare the Romaine

Wash the romaine lettuce thoroughly under cold water, then tear it into bite-sized pieces. Place the torn lettuce in a large salad bowl.

2

Add Cheese and Anchovies

Sprinkle the shaved Grana Padano cheese over the romaine lettuce. Add the marinated anchovies on top.

3

Prepare Lemon

Cut the lemon in half. Squeeze the juice from one half over the salad, and reserve the other half for garnish.

Dressing Preparation

4

Combine Dressing Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, minced garlic, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, grated Parmesan cheese, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper.

5

Whisk the Dressing

Using a whisk or a fork, mix the dressing ingredients until well combined and emulsified. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.

Crouton Preparation

6

Prepare the Croutons

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Cut the slices of bread into cubes.

7

Season and Bake Croutons

Toss the bread cubes with olive oil, garlic powder, and salt. Spread them out on a baking sheet and bake for about 10-15 minutes or until golden and crispy, stirring halfway through.

Assembly

8

Combine Salad and Dressing

Once the croutons are ready, pour the dressing over the prepared salad and toss gently to coat all ingredients evenly.

9

Add Croutons

Top the salad with the baked croutons. Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side for additional flavor.
