Deviled Egg Ingredients

Method

Preparation Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Eggs

Place the eggs in a pot and cover them with cold water. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Once boiling, cover the pot and remove from heat. Let sit for 12 minutes. After 12 minutes, transfer the eggs to an ice bath to cool.

  2. 2

    Make the Filling

Peel the cooled eggs and slice them in half lengthwise. Remove the yolks and place them in a bowl. Add mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, white vinegar, salt, black pepper, and shallot jam to the yolks. Mash together until smooth and creamy.

  3. 3

    Prepare for Frying

Spoon the yolk mixture back into the egg whites. Then, roll each filled egg half in panko breadcrumbs to coat.

  4. 4

    Fry the Eggs

Heat the oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat. Carefully add the coated eggs in batches and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

  5. 5

    Serve

Serve the deep-fried deviled eggs warm, garnished with crispy garlic if desired.
