Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a bowl, combine whiskey, olive oil, minced garlic, chopped rosemary, chopped thyme, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Prime Rib

Place the prime rib roast in a large resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the roast, ensuring it's fully coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.

  3. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 400°F or 200°C).

  4. 4

    Grill the Prime Rib

Remove the prime rib from the marinade and let it come to room temperature for about 30 minutes. Place the roast on the grill and sear for 15 minutes on each side. Then, reduce the heat to low and continue grilling for about 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches your desired doneness (medium rare is about 135°F or 57°C).

  5. 5

    Rest and Serve

Remove the prime rib from the grill and let it rest for at least 15 minutes before slicing. Serve with your choice of soup or salad, and sides of French fries, cole slaw, or cottage cheese.
