Brownie Base

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.

  2. 2

    Melt the Butter

In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat. Once melted, remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

  3. 3

    Mix Sugars and Eggs

In a large mixing bowl, combine melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and mix well. Add the eggs one by one, mixing after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.

  4. 4

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In another bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually fold the dry mixture into the wet mixture until just combined.

  5. 5

    Add Pretzels and Chocolate Chips

Gently fold in the pretzel pieces and chocolate chips into the brownie batter.

  6. 6

    Bake the Brownies

Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

  7. 7

    Cool and Serve

Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for at least 15 minutes before lifting them out using the parchment paper. Cut into squares and serve warm, preferably with a scoop of ice cream a la mode.
