Chill the Glass
Begin by chilling your Old Fashioned glass. You can do this by filling it with ice water and setting it aside while you prepare the drink.

Mix the Ingredients
In a mixing glass, combine the Bulleit Bourbon, Demerara syrup, and Angostura bitters.

Add Ice
Fill the mixing glass with ice to the brim and stir the mixture gently for about 30 seconds to chill and dilute the cocktail.
Serving

Strain and Serve
Remove the ice water from the Old Fashioned glass and strain the mixed drink into the chilled glass over a large ice cube or a few smaller cubes.

Garnish
Express the oils of the orange peel over the drink by holding it over the glass and giving it a twist. Then, drop the peel into the glass. Add a Maraschino cherry as a garnish on top.
