Method

Cooking the Pasta

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pasta

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the penne or linguine and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Making Beef Marinara Sauce

  1. 2

    Cook the Beef

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté until softened. Add the ground beef and cook until browned.

  2. 3

    Simmer the Sauce

Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Making Chicken Alfredo Sauce

  1. 4

    Prepare the Alfredo Sauce

In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute. Pour in heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Stir in grated Parmesan cheese until melted, adding salt and pepper to taste.

Making Garlic Bread

  1. 5

    Prepare the Garlic Butter

In a small bowl, combine softened butter, minced garlic, and chopped parsley. Mix well.

  2. 6

    Bake the Garlic Bread

Slice the French bread in half lengthwise. Spread the garlic butter evenly on each half. Place on a baking sheet and broil in the oven until golden brown, about 3-5 minutes.

Serving

    Assemble and Serve

Serve the cooked pasta with either the beef marinara sauce or chicken alfredo sauce. Accompany with slices of garlic bread.
