Prepare the Butter Mixture
In a small bowl, combine the unsalted butter, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg. Mix until well blended and creamy.

Combine Ingredients
In a heatproof mug, add the dark rum and the prepared butter mixture. Stir well to combine.

Add Hot Liquid
Pour the hot water or tea over the rum and butter mixture in the mug. Stir until the butter is melted and the mixture is smooth.

Finish with Cream
Float the heavy cream on top of the drink for added richness. Optionally, sprinkle a little extra ground nutmeg on top for garnish.
