Method

Fish

  1. 1

    Prepare the batter

In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and black pepper. Gradually add beer, stirring until smooth.

  2. 2

    Fry the cod

Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium-high heat. Dip each cod fillet into the batter, allowing excess to drip off. Carefully place in hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Fries

  1. 3

    Prepare the fries

Peel and cut the potatoes into thin strips. Rinse in cold water and pat dry. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot. Fry potatoes in batches until golden and crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels. Season with salt.

Tartar Sauce

  1. 4

    Make the tartar sauce

In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, chopped pickles, capers, lemon juice, and dill. Mix well and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Coleslaw

  1. 5

    Prepare the coleslaw

In a large bowl, combine shredded cabbage and grated carrots. In a separate bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, and salt. Pour dressing over the cabbage mixture and toss to combine. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.
