Bread Pudding

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Bread

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Tear the stale bread into bite-sized pieces and place in a large mixing bowl.

  2. 2

    Mix Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, whisk together the milk, heavy cream, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.

  3. 3

    Combine and Soak

Pour the wet mixture over the torn bread, ensuring all pieces are soaked. Let it sit for about 15 minutes to absorb.

  4. 4

    Bake

Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a knife inserted comes out clean.

  5. 5

    Prepare Whiskey Caramel Sauce

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine 1 cup of sugar with 1/4 cup of water. Cook until the sugar dissolves and turns amber in color. Remove from heat and carefully whisk in 1/2 cup of whiskey until smooth.

  6. 6

    Serve

Let the bread pudding cool slightly before serving. Drizzle the warm whiskey caramel sauce over the top.
