Prime Rib
Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Prime Rib
Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). In a small bowl, mix the minced garlic, chopped rosemary, chopped thyme, olive oil, salt, and black pepper to create a paste. Rub the paste all over the prime rib roast.
- 2
Roasting
Place the prime rib on a roasting rack in a roasting pan. Roast in the preheated oven for 15 minutes to develop a crust. Then reduce the temperature to 325°F (160°C) and continue to roast for about 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches your desired doneness (130°F for medium-rare).
- 3
Resting
Remove the prime rib from the oven and cover it loosely with aluminum foil. Let it rest for at least 20 minutes before carving to allow the juices to redistribute.
