Pizza Dough and Toppings
Method
Preparation and Baking
- 1
Make the Dough
In a bowl, dissolve the active dry yeast in warm water and let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Create a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
- 2
Knead the Dough
Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- 3
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
- 4
Shape the Pizza
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness. Transfer to a pizza stone or baking sheet.
- 5
Add Sauce and Toppings
Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese on top, followed by the pepperoni slices.
- 6
Bake the Pizza
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling.
- 7
Serve
Remove from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, slice, and serve hot.
