Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Dough

In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until frothy. Add olive oil, salt, and flour gradually, mixing until a dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.

  2. 2

    Let it Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Topping and Baking

  1. 3

    Prepare the Toppings

While the dough is rising, prepare your toppings. Cook chorizo in a skillet until browned, set aside. Sauté garlic mushrooms until tender, and have roasted red peppers ready.

  2. 4

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat.

  3. 5

    Stretch the Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness. If using a pizza stone, transfer it to a pizza peel dusted with flour.

  4. 6

    Assemble the Pizza

Spread marinara sauce evenly over the dough. Top with mozzarella cheese, chorizo, roasted red peppers, and garlic mushrooms.

  5. 7

    Bake the Pizza

Transfer the pizza to the preheated oven (or pizza stone). Bake for 12-15 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.

  6. 8

    Finish & Serve

Remove the pizza from the oven and drizzle with herb oil before slicing. Serve hot.
