Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels. Once cooled, crumble into pieces.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Dressing

In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

  3. 3

    Char the Romaine

Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Cut the romaine head in half lengthwise. Brush the cut sides with olive oil and place them cut side down on the grill. Char for about 2-3 minutes until grill marks appear.

  4. 4

    Toast the Bread

While the romaine is grilling, toast the country bread slices until golden brown. Once toasted, cut into crouton-sized pieces.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Salad

On a serving platter, place the charred romaine halves. Top with sliced heart of palm, crumbled bacon, and parmesan cheese. Drizzle the dressing over the top and garnish with croutons.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve immediately while the salad is warm and enjoy!
