Churro Dough

Cinnamon Sugar

Method

Churro Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Dough

In a medium saucepan, combine water, unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.

  2. 2

    Add Flour

Once the mixture is boiling, remove from heat and stir in the all-purpose flour until a dough forms.

  3. 3

    Cool and Incorporate Eggs

Allow the dough to cool for about 5 minutes. Then, add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until fully incorporated.

  4. 4

    Transfer to Piping Bag

Spoon the dough into a piping bag fitted with a star tip.

Cinnamon Sugar Mixture

  1. 5

    Mix Sugar and Cinnamon

In a small bowl, combine the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Set aside for coating the churros later.

Frying the Churros

  1. 6

    Heat the Oil

In a deep saucepan or fryer, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 7

    Pipe and Fry

Carefully pipe strips of dough into the hot oil, cutting them to your desired length with scissors. Fry for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.

  3. 8

    Drain and Coat

Remove churros from the oil and drain on paper towels. Immediately roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture to coat.
