Method

Preparation of Protein

  1. 1

    Cook the Ground Beef

In a skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it up with a wooden spoon, about 5-7 minutes.

  2. 2

    Add Taco Seasoning

Once the beef is cooked, drain any excess fat. Add taco seasoning and 1/4 cup of water. Stir to combine and simmer for 5 minutes.

Assembling the Burrito

  1. 3

    Prepare the Tortilla

Warm the large flour tortillas in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side to make them pliable.

  2. 4

    Layer the Fillings

On each tortilla, layer 1/2 cup of cooked rice, 1/4 cup of black beans, 1/4 of the cooked ground beef, and top with shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, salsa, chopped lettuce, and diced tomatoes.

  3. 5

    Wrap the Burrito

Fold in the sides of the tortilla, then roll from the bottom up to enclose the fillings tightly. Repeat for all tortillas.

Optional Toppings

  1. 6

    Add Optional Toppings

If desired, add sliced jalapeños and guacamole on top of the burrito before serving.
