Philly Cheesesteak Ingredients

Method

Philly Cheesesteak Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Vegetables

Slice the green bell pepper and onion into thin strips.

  2. 2

    Cook the Vegetables

In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced bell pepper and onion. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until softened and slightly caramelized. Remove from skillet and set aside.

  3. 3

    Cook the Steak

In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Increase the heat to medium-high and add the thinly sliced steak. Season with salt and black pepper. Cook for about 3-5 minutes until browned, stirring frequently.

  4. 4

    Combine and Melt Cheese

Add the cooked vegetables back to the skillet with the steak. Place the Swiss and smoked gouda cheese slices on top. Cover the skillet with a lid and let it cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Sandwich

Slice the hoagie rolls open and fill them with the steak and cheese mixture. Serve immediately.
