Seafood and Pasta

Method

Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Cook the Lobster

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the lobster and cook for about 8-10 minutes until bright red. Remove from water and let cool before removing the meat from the shell.

  2. 2

    Cook the Spaghetti

In the same pot of boiling water, add squid ink spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually around 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Sauce

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Add canned tomatoes and simmer for 10 minutes.

  4. 4

    Add Seafood

Add mussels, shrimp, and clams to the sauce. Cover and cook for about 5-7 minutes until the shells open and the shrimp turn pink.

  5. 5

    Combine

Add the cooked lobster meat to the skillet. Toss in the squid ink spaghetti and mix well. Season with salt, black pepper, and fresh basil.

  6. 6

    Serve

Plate the frutti di mare, garnishing with additional fresh basil and a drizzle of olive oil if desired.
