Coffee Ingredients

Method

Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Measure Ingredients

Measure out 2 tablespoons of finely ground Turkish coffee, 200 ml of water, and 1 tablespoon of sugar. If desired, measure out 1 teaspoon of cardamom.

  2. 2

    Combine Ingredients

In a cezve (Turkish coffee pot), add the water, followed by the finely ground Turkish coffee. If using, add the cardamom as well.

  3. 3

    Stir the Mixture

Stir the mixture well to ensure the coffee grounds are fully saturated with water.

  4. 4

    Add Sugar

If you prefer your coffee sweetened, add the sugar to the mixture and stir again until it is fully dissolved.

  5. 5

    Heat the Coffee

Place the cezve on low heat and allow the coffee to slowly heat up. Do not stir once it starts heating.

  6. 6

    Watch for Froth

As the coffee heats, watch for it to begin frothing. Just before it starts to boil, remove it from the heat.

  7. 7

    Reheat if Necessary

If the coffee has not reached the desired frothy state, return it to heat and repeat the process until you achieve a nice froth.

  8. 8

    Serve the Coffee

Pour the coffee into small cups, allowing the grounds to settle at the bottom. Serve immediately and enjoy.
