For the Paneer Tikka

Method

For the Paneer Tikka

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a bowl, combine the yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, lemon juice, and salt. Mix well.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Paneer

Cut the paneer into cubes and add them to the marinade. Also, add the cubed bell peppers and onion. Mix gently to coat all pieces evenly. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Skewers

Soak the skewers in water for 30 minutes if using wooden skewers. Thread the marinated paneer, bell peppers, and onion onto the skewers.

  4. 4

    Grill the Paneer

Preheat the grill or oven to medium-high heat. Grill the skewers for about 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally until the paneer is slightly charred and cooked through.

For the Masala Sauce

  1. 5

    Heat the Oil

In a large pan, heat the oil over medium heat.

  2. 6

    Sauté the Onions

Add the finely chopped onion and sauté until they turn golden brown.

  3. 7

    Add Ginger-Garlic Paste

Stir in the ginger-garlic paste and sauté for another minute until fragrant.

  4. 8

    Cook the Tomatoes

Add the pureed tomatoes and cook for about 5-7 minutes until the oil starts to separate.

  5. 9

    Add Spices

Stir in the turmeric powder, red chili powder, and garam masala. Cook for another 2 minutes.

  6. 10

    Add Cream

Pour in the cream and stir well. Cook for 3-4 minutes until the sauce thickens. Season with salt to taste.

  7. 11

    Combine with Paneer Tikka

Add the grilled paneer tikka to the masala sauce and gently mix to coat the paneer evenly.

  8. 12

    Garnish and Serve

Garnish with fresh coriander and serve hot with naan or rice.
