Method
Biscuit Preparation
- 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- 2
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- 3
Cut in Butter
Cut the unsalted butter into small pieces and add to the dry mixture. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- 4
Add Buttermilk
Pour in the buttermilk and stir until just combined. Do not overmix; some lumps are okay.
- 5
Shape the Biscuits
Turn the dough out onto a floured surface. Gently pat it into a rectangle about 1-inch thick. Cut out biscuits using a round cutter or a glass.
- 6
Bake
Place the biscuits on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
