Method

Preparing the Coffee

  1. 1

    Brew Espresso

Brew 1 cup of strong espresso coffee. Once brewed, mix in 1 tablespoon of sugar while the coffee is still hot, and set aside to cool.

Making the Mascarpone Mixture

  1. 2

    Whip the Cream

In a mixing bowl, pour 1 cup of heavy cream and whip it until soft peaks form. Be careful not to over-whip.

  2. 3

    Prepare Egg Yolks

In another bowl, whisk together 3 egg yolks and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until the mixture becomes pale and creamy.

  3. 4

    Combine Ingredients

Gently fold the mascarpone cheese into the egg yolk mixture until combined. Then, carefully fold in the whipped cream until smooth and homogeneous.

Assembling the Tiramisu

  1. 5

    Dip Ladyfingers

Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the cooled espresso coffee, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.

  2. 6

    Layer the Tiramisu

In a rectangular dish, lay half of the soaked ladyfingers at the bottom. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers. Repeat with the remaining ladyfingers and mascarpone mixture.

Chilling and Serving

  1. 7

    Chill the Tiramisu

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.

  2. 8

    Serve

Before serving, dust the top with 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder. Cut into squares and enjoy your homemade tiramisu!
