Method

Preparation of Topping

  1. 1

    Chop the Tomatoes

Dice the tomatoes into small pieces and place them in a mixing bowl.

  2. 2

    Mince the Garlic

Peel and finely mince the garlic cloves before adding them to the bowl with tomatoes.

  3. 3

    Add Basil and Seasoning

Chop the fresh basil leaves and add them to the bowl. Then add balsamic vinegar, salt, and black pepper. Mix everything together gently and set aside to allow the flavors to meld.

Preparation of Bread

  1. 4

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. 5

    Slice the Baguette

Cut the baguette into 1/2 inch thick slices on a diagonal.

  3. 6

    Brush with Olive Oil

Brush both sides of each slice with olive oil and arrange them on a baking sheet.

  4. 7

    Toast the Bread

Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and toast the bread for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown. Flip the slices halfway through to ensure even toasting.

Assembly

  1. 8

    Top the Toasted Bread

Remove the toasted bread from the oven and allow to cool slightly. Spoon the tomato mixture onto each slice of toasted bread.

  2. 9

    Serve

Arrange the bruschetta on a serving platter and serve immediately while warm.
