Steak Marinade

Method

Marinade Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a large mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, lime juice, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, red chili flakes, and black pepper. Whisk together until the brown sugar is fully dissolved.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Steak

Place the flank steak in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the steak, ensuring it is well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours (or overnight for best flavor).

Cooking the Steak

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Brush the grill grates with oil to prevent sticking.

  2. 4

    Grill the Steak

Remove the steak from the marinade, allowing excess marinade to drip off. Place the steak on the hot grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or longer depending on your desired doneness.

  3. 5

    Rest the Steak

Once cooked, remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. This helps retain the juices.

Serving

  1. 6

    Slice and Serve

Slice the steak against the grain into thin strips. Arrange on a serving platter and garnish with chopped cilantro and sliced green onions. Serve with lime wedges on the side.
