Method

Cooking Noodles

1

Boil Water

In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil over high heat.

2

Cook Noodles

Add 8 oz of egg noodles to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions, typically about 5-7 minutes, until tender.

3

Drain Noodles

Once cooked, drain the noodles and set them aside.

Preparing Vegetables

4

Chop Vegetables

While the noodles are cooking, chop the bell pepper, carrot, and green onions. Mince the garlic cloves.

5

Prepare Broccoli

If using fresh broccoli, cut it into florets. If using frozen, thaw and drain the excess water.

Making Sauce

6

Mix Sauce Ingredients

In a small bowl, combine 3 tablespoons of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of sesame oil, 1 tablespoon of cornstarch, 2 tablespoons of water, and 1 tsp of black pepper. Mix until smooth and set aside.

Stir-Frying

7

Heat Pan

In a large skillet or wok, heat a tablespoon of oil over medium-high heat.

8

Cook Protein (if using)

If you are adding chicken breast, add it to the hot pan and stir-fry for about 5-7 minutes until fully cooked. Remove from the pan and set aside.

9

Add Vegetables

In the same pan, add the chopped bell pepper, carrot, broccoli florets, and minced garlic. Stir-fry for about 3-5 minutes until vegetables are tender yet crisp.

10

Combine Noodles and Sauce

Add the drained noodles to the pan with the vegetables. Pour the prepared sauce over the noodles and toss everything together to combine. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through.

11

Serve

If you cooked chicken, add it back to the pan and mix well. Serve the stir-fried noodle entrée hot, garnished with sliced green onions.
