Method

Preparing the Sticky Rice

1

Soak the Sticky Rice

Rinse the sticky rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Then, soak it in water for at least 4 hours or overnight for best results.

2

Steam the Sticky Rice

After soaking, drain the rice and place it in a steamer basket lined with cheesecloth. Steam the rice over boiling water for about 20-25 minutes, or until the rice is translucent and cooked through.

Making the Coconut Sauce

3

Combine Ingredients

In a saucepan, combine the coconut milk, sugar, and salt. Stir to mix well.

4

Heat the Sauce

Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally until the sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat once it reaches the desired consistency.

Preparing the Bananas

5

Slice the Bananas

Peel the ripe bananas and slice them into rounds or lengthwise, as preferred.

Serving the Dish

6

Assemble the Dish

In serving bowls, place a generous portion of the steamed sticky rice. Top with banana slices and drizzle with the warm coconut sauce.

7

Garnish and Serve

Optionally, you can garnish with sesame seeds or shredded coconut. Serve warm and enjoy!
