Method

Prepare the Filling

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, chopped shrimp, finely chopped water chestnuts, mushrooms, and green onions.

  2. 2

    Add Seasoning

Add soy sauce, sesame oil, minced ginger, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper to the mixture. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well combined.

Prepare the Dumpling Wrapper

  1. 3

    Make the Dough

In a separate bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Gradually add water while mixing until a dough forms.

  2. 4

    Knead the Dough

Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.

Assemble the Dumplings

  1. 5

    Roll Out the Dough

Divide the rested dough into small balls. Roll each ball into a thin circle, about 3 inches in diameter.

  2. 6

    Fill the Dumplings

Place a spoonful of filling in the center of each wrapper. Fold the wrapper in half and pinch the edges to seal, ensuring no filling escapes.

Steam the Dumplings

  1. 7

    Prepare the Steamer

Bring water to a boil in a steamer pot. Line the steamer basket with parchment paper to prevent sticking.

  2. 8

    Steam the Dumplings

Place the dumplings in the steamer basket, making sure they do not touch. Steam for 15-20 minutes until the filling is cooked through.
