Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Muddle the Sugar

Place the sugar cube in an old fashioned glass. Add 2 dashes of Angostura bitters onto the sugar cube. Muddle them together using a muddler or the back of a spoon until the sugar is dissolved.

  2. 2

    Add Bourbon

Pour 2 oz of bourbon over the muddled sugar and bitters mixture.

  3. 3

    Add Ice

Fill the glass with 3 large ice cubes. Stir gently to combine the ingredients.

  4. 4

    Garnish

Express the oils from a strip of orange peel over the drink by holding it over the glass and giving it a gentle twist. Drop the peel into the glass as a garnish. Finally, add a maraschino cherry on top for an extra touch.
