Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Turkey Wings

In a large bowl, combine salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Rub the mixture evenly over the turkey wings to season them thoroughly.

  2. 2

    Sear the Turkey Wings

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned turkey wings and sear them for about 4-5 minutes on each side until they are golden brown. Remove the wings and set aside.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Sauté the Vegetables

In the same skillet, add sliced onions, minced garlic, sliced carrots, and chopped celery. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are softened.

  2. 4

    Add Chicken Broth

Pour in the chicken broth and bring it to a simmer. Add the seared turkey wings back into the skillet, ensuring they are submerged in the broth.

  3. 5

    Cover and Cook

Cover the skillet and let it cook on low heat for about 1 hour, or until the turkey wings are tender and cooked through.

Making the Gravy

  1. 6

    Prepare the Gravy

In a separate saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour and cook for about 2 minutes until slightly browned. Gradually whisk in the cooking liquid from the skillet (broth and drippings) until smooth and thickened. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

  2. 7

    Serve

Once the turkey wings are tender, remove them from the skillet and place them on a serving platter. Pour the gravy over them and serve hot.
