Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prep the Ingredients

Dice the onion, bell pepper, and tomato (if using) into small pieces. If using spinach, roughly chop it.

  2. 2

    Cook the Meat

If using ground beef, cook it in a skillet over medium heat until browned and fully cooked. Drain excess fat. If using ham, simply chop it into small pieces.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Whisk the Eggs

In a bowl, crack the eggs and whisk them together with salt and black pepper until well combined and slightly frothy.

  2. 4

    Sauté Vegetables

In a large non-stick skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the diced onion and bell pepper, and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until they are softened.

  3. 5

    Combine Ingredients

Add the cooked ham or ground beef to the skillet with the sautéed vegetables. If using spinach, add it now and cook until wilted.

  4. 6

    Cook the Omelette

Pour the whisked eggs over the mixture in the skillet. Let it cook undisturbed for about 2-3 minutes until the edges start to set.

  5. 7

    Add Cheese

Sprinkle the cheddar cheese evenly over the top of the omelette. Cover the skillet with a lid and let it cook for another 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted and the eggs are fully set.

Serving

  1. 8

    Plate the Omelette

Once cooked, carefully slide the omelette onto a plate. Cut it in half if desired.

  2. 9

    Garnish and Serve

Top with diced tomatoes (if using) and drizzle with hot sauce to taste. Serve warm.
