Method

Preparation of Beef Patties

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef with salt and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until the seasoning is evenly distributed.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the seasoned ground beef into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about ¾ inch thick.

Cooking the Patties

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Skillet

Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Ensure it’s hot before adding the patties.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the beef patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the meat reaches your desired doneness.

Assembling the Burgers

  1. 5

    Prepare the Buns

While the patties are cooking, slice the hamburger buns in half. Toast them lightly on the grill or in a toaster if desired.

  2. 6

    Add the Patties

Once the patties are done, place each patty on the bottom half of a toasted bun.

  3. 7

    Add Toppings

Layer the sliced ham, lettuce, tomato slices, and onion slices on top of the patties. Add pickles, ketchup, and mustard to taste.

  4. 8

    Complete the Burger

Place the top half of the bun on each assembled burger.

Serving

  1. 9

    Serve Immediately

Serve the burgers hot with a side of fries or your favorite side dish.
