Base Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, unsweetened cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.

  3. 3

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until smooth.

  4. 4

    Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, and stir until just combined. Do not over mix.

  5. 5

    Bake

Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  6. 6

    Cool the Cake

Remove from the oven and allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Frosting Preparation

  1. 7

    Make the Frosting

In a mixing bowl, beat the unsalted butter until creamy. Gradually add the powdered sugar and cocoa powder, mixing until fully incorporated.

  2. 8

    Add Liquid Ingredients

Add the milk and vanilla extract to the mixture and beat until the frosting is light and fluffy.

  3. 9

    Frost the Cake

Once the cake has completely cooled, spread the frosting evenly over the top using a spatula.

  4. 10

    Serve

Slice the cake into squares and serve. Enjoy your delicious chocolate dessert!
